You’re not lost until you run out of gas… We go on drives through backroads, trying to find unseen places, turns that are new to us. I enjoy getting us good & turned around & having no idea where we are. & it’s become a sort of mantra when that happens that “We’re not lost, we still have gas.” I had the epiphany this morning that this should be a life mantra. No matter where you wind up, or what turns you took, no matter how far you are from where you started or intended, you’re not lost til you run out of gas. So long as you’ve got fuel you can still go anywhere.
The trouble with me isn’t so much that I feel as though I haven’t experienced much or done exciting things, it’s just that I have a tendency to let myself stumble into them instead of planning for them and arranging for them to happen. This is fine in that it creates serendipity and spontaneity…
